The Wheaton Youth Center, a mid-century modern community recreation facility that opened in December 1963 on Georgia Avenue in Wheaton, Maryland, served as a cultural hub for the region's emerging suburban concert scene throughout the 1960s and beyond. Built of concrete block, glass, steel, and wood, the structure housed a gymnasium where concerts were staged, situated across from the Wheaton Library. Operated by the Montgomery County Department of Recreation, the building remained in use until its demolition in 2016.
