The Whitley County Courthouse stands at the intersection of Van Buren and Main Streets in Columbia City, Indiana, serving as the seat of Whitley County. Built in 1888, this three-story limestone edifice exemplifies French Renaissance Revival architecture, with a cruciform floor plan that contributes to its commanding presence. Designed by architect Brentwood S. Tolan, the building is constructed of Indiana limestone and features a slate roof crowned by a galvanized iron central dome. The courthouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 16, 1979.
