Built in 1892 on Kingstown Road in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, the Washington County Courthouse is a Romanesque Revival structure designed by architect Leslie P. Langworthy. The building served as the county's judicial seat until 1991, when court operations relocated to the McGrath Judicial Complex in nearby Wakefield. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, the former courthouse now functions as the Courthouse Center for the Arts, preserving its architectural heritage while serving a new cultural purpose.
