Wiesenthau Castle stands on the northeastern edge of the municipality of Wiesenthau in northern Bavaria, positioned at the foot of the Ehrenbürg. This Renaissance country house comprises three wings anchored by four corner towers dating to the mid-16th century, and preserves the remains of its former enceinte. Now an archaeological site and protected architectural monument, the castle exemplifies the defensive residential architecture of its era.
