Located at 405 Carpenter Street in downtown Evansville, Indiana, the Willard Carpenter House is a Greek Revival residence built between 1848 and 1849 for Willard Carpenter, a prominent philanthropist and pioneer of the city. The house stands as one of two major landmarks commemorating Carpenter's legacy, alongside Willard Library, which he founded and endowed. After passing from Carpenter family ownership during the Great Depression, the property served successive institutional owners—Funkhouser American Legion Post, the television station WTVW, and later Medco, which undertook a careful restoration toward original condition in the 1970s. The house has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978 and currently houses offices for the public broadcasting station WNIN and WNIN-FM.
