Built in 1865 in Evanston, Illinois, the Frances Willard House is a Carpenter Gothic single-family home that served as the residence of temperance advocate Frances Willard (1839–1898) and her family. Willard affectionately named the house Rest Cottage, a refuge during her extensive travels and work with the Woman's Christian Temperance Union. The adjacent building functioned as the organization's longtime headquarters, making the property integral to the American temperance movement. Now owned by the National WCTU and operating as a house museum, the structure is recognized as both a National Historic Landmark and a listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
