Built around 1853 for William Anderson, the first Washtenaw County Sheriff, this Greek Revival house at 2301 Packard Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan, stands as a well-preserved example of the style in Southeast Michigan. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983, the house remained in Anderson's family until the 1930s. Dr. Inez R. Wisdom, a University of Michigan Medical School graduate, purchased the property in 1937 and operated her medical office there while living with her partner Gertrude L. Griffith; she also built a small chapel on the grounds in 1941, which evolved into St. Clare of Assisi Episcopal Church. Following the church's 1974 merger with Temple Beth Emeth to form Genesis of Ann Arbor, the historic house transitioned to commercial use before becoming the location of the Back Door Food Pantry, operated by the joint Jewish-Christian congregation since 2007.
