A brick building constructed around 1887 on North Washington Street in Campton, Kentucky, the William L. Hurst Law Office exemplifies late nineteenth-century Italianate design infused with Classical Revival elements. Built for William L. Hurst, a Union Army veteran of the Civil War who relocated to the area in the 1870s, the structure served as his law practice through the early 1900s. From 1914 to 1917, Hurst leased the building to the city of Campton, which used it as a sheriff and clerk's office. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, the building preserves a chapter of Kentucky's legal and civic history.
