Located in Floresville, Texas, the Wilson County Courthouse and Jail is an Italianate structure designed by architect Alfred Giles using local brick. The building underwent significant alterations during the twentieth century—its original brickwork was plastered over during a 1930s remodeling and further modified again in the 1950s. Giles, a prolific courthouse architect across Texas, designed numerous similar public buildings throughout the state, including courthouses in Brooks, Live Oak, Presidio, and Webb counties. The complex was recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1984 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
