Wimborne Minster is the parish church of Wimborne, Dorset, England, built from 1150 in the Romanesque style. Originally founded as a monastery and Benedictine nunnery with roots stretching back over 1,300 years, the building preserves one of the world's few surviving chained libraries, in which books were secured with chains to prevent theft—a remarkable survival from the minster's scholarly past. King Æthelred of Wessex was buried within its walls, underscoring its historical significance as both a religious and royal site. The structure is designated Grade I listed.
