In the Reinickendorf district of Berlin, a residential complex built in 1931 exemplifies the New Objectivity style through its austere, functionalist design. Designed by architect Fritz Beyer, the housing development—comprising structures at Am Schäfersee 21/67, Brienzer Straße 42/56, and Holländerstraße 11-16—represents the modernist approach to collective dwelling that flourished in Weimar-era Germany. The entire Gesamtanlage (unified ensemble) is now recognized as a cultural heritage site, reflecting both its architectural significance and its role in early twentieth-century efforts to provide rational, efficient housing solutions for urban residents.
