Visible from the street; the inside is private.
A mixed-use housing estate built in 1989 in The Hague's Schilderswijk district, this complex combines residential units with retail space along Van der Vennestraat. Designed through collaboration between architects Carlos Castanheira, Mecanoo, and Álvaro Siza Vieira, the project exemplifies late-twentieth-century European approaches to urban infill and ground-floor commercial activation, integrating housing and shopping functions within a single architectural framework.
