Located in Charlottesville, Virginia, the Young Building is a historic office structure erected in 1916 to serve the J. S. Young and Company sumac mill situated across the street. The two-story brick edifice displays Jacobean Revival characteristics, featuring five bays arranged in a single pile with a medium-pitched gabled roof, deeply projecting eaves, and decoratively shaped rafter ends. A substantial rear wing extends from the main block. Originally designed for commercial office use, the building was adapted for residential purposes after 1939. Recognized for its architectural and historical significance, it was designated a Virginia Historic Landmark and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
