Built in 1924 and designed by architect Charles F. Plummer, the Young's Market Company Building stands at the corner of West 7th Street and South Union Avenue in Los Angeles's Westlake neighborhood. Originally conceived as a retail market and office building, the structure exemplifies Renaissance Revival architecture. The commercial block earned recognition as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. In 1997, the building underwent renovation that transformed it into 44 live-work lofts, adapting its early twentieth-century commercial purpose to contemporary residential use.
