This historic ten-story highrise stands at the intersection of South Broadway and West 4th Street in downtown Los Angeles's Broadway Theater District. Completed in 1915, the building was designed by The Parkinsons and George Bergstrom in the Beaux-Arts and Renaissance Revival styles. Originally constructed as the flagship location of The Broadway department store—a role it maintained for nearly sixty years—the structure has since been known by several names, including the Junipero Serra Building and Junipero Serra State Office Building. It is recognized as a contributing property on the National Register of Historic Places.
