Built in 1929 as one of the original six structures in Westwood Village, this Los Angeles grocery store exemplifies Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial Revival architecture through its distinctive cylindrical rotunda crowned by a low saucer dome, flanked by arcaded wings extending north and east, with a pediment marking the entrance. The building gained additional historical significance when photographer Ansel Adams documented it in 1940, and it was recognized as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1988 before being listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
