Located in central Baltimore, Maryland, this three-story Moorish Revival building was completed in 1930 and designed by architect Joseph Evans Sperry. Constructed of Flemish bond brick with a flat roof and rectangular footprint, its exterior displays Moorish ornamentation alongside Jewish motifs, notably the Star of David. Built midway between uptown and East Baltimore, the Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association Building symbolized a unified effort to bridge Baltimore's divided Jewish communities—the prosperous German Jews of uptown and the impoverished Eastern European and Russian immigrants of East Baltimore. Now converted to residential apartments, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and is included in the Baltimore National Heritage Area.
