The Zadock Pratt House in Prattsville, Greene County, New York, is a historic residence originally constructed in 1828 as a Federal-style structure with two stories and five bays. Built of hemlock posts and beams over a stone foundation, the house was substantially altered around 1856 with romantic and picturesque architectural details reflecting mid-nineteenth-century American tastes, including broadly projecting eaves and a two-story portico supported by octagonal columns. It was the home of Zadock Pratt (1790–1871), founder of Prattsville, and has functioned as a house museum since 1959. The property retains the original well and two Ginkgo trees—one male, one female—brought from China and planted circa 1825 by Pratt himself. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, the house sustained significant damage to its ground floor during Hurricane Irene in 2011.
