The Château d'Abbadia is a neogothic château in Hendaye, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, built between 1864 and 1879 by the renowned architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc and Edmond Duthoit under the patronage of explorer Antoine d'Abbadie. Now serving as a museum and observatory, the castle showcases authentic 19th-century scientific collections, archives, and furnishings that constitute a substantial cultural heritage. Classified as a historical monument and designated a "Maison des Illustres," the château exemplifies Viollet-le-Duc's mastery of Gothic Revival architecture.
