The Adams Express Building, a 32-story office tower completed in 1914 at 61 Broadway in Manhattan's Financial District, was designed by architect Francis H. Kimball in the Palazzo style. Rising from a prominent site with frontage on both Broadway and Trinity Place, the building was erected for the Adams Express Company at an estimated cost of $2 million. Upon its completion, it ranked as the seventh tallest structure in Manhattan, a testament to the ambitions of early twentieth-century commercial architecture in New York.
