The Teatro Aguascalientes, designed by architect Abraham Zabludowsky, is a modern opera house that opened on August 16, 1991, with a performance of an operetta. Located in Aguascalientes, Mexico, it serves as the city's principal venue for opera, classical music, popular music, theater, and ballet, with a seating capacity of 1,650 across two floors—the upper level featuring a gallery and six boxes of six seats each. The building's entry foyer is marked by distinctive cylindrical columns. Its stage measures 15 meters wide by 13 meters deep, equipped with facilities comparable to the world's most sophisticated theaters, including air conditioning, digitally controlled lighting, and advanced sound systems. The opera house sits within its own grounds featuring gardens and parking for 300 vehicles, and during Aguascalientes' annual San Marcos fair, it hosts the folk spectacle "ferial," establishing itself as the city's premier cultural institution.
