Alte Synagoge
Heilbronn, Germany

Demolished or destroyed.
The Heilbronn Synagogue, located in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg, was designed by Stuttgart architect Adolf Wolff in the Moorish Revival style and constructed from local sandstone on Allee. Completed in 1877, it is regarded as a high point of Neo-Orientalism in synagogue architecture. The building was desecrated by Nazis during Kristallnacht in November 1938 and subsequently demolished in 1940. A memorial stone and sculpture now mark the site where this significant Jewish congregation building once stood.
