Built around 1865 by Amasa Farrier, the town surveyor, this two-and-a-half-story wood-frame house at 280 Main Street in Stoneham, Massachusetts exemplifies modest Italianate design with bracketed eaves and gable detailing, broad corner boards, and an original porch featuring turned posts (later enclosed). Constructed to house workers employed in the town's shoe factories, it remains the sole surviving boarding house from this industrial era in Stoneham. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
