The John Botume House, a stone dwelling built circa 1849 at 4 Woodland Road in Stoneham, Massachusetts, exemplifies Italianate and Renaissance Revival architectural styles. Constructed by a Boston businessman as a retreat along the shore of Spot Pond, it is the sole survivor of several similar houses built in the area during that era. Now owned by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, the house serves as the visitors center for the Middlesex Fells Reservation. It was recognized as a historic property and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
