The John Mason House is a mid-nineteenth-century residence in Winchester, Massachusetts, exemplifying the high-style Italianate architecture fashionable among Boston's suburban gentry. Built in the 1860s—probably for Joshua Stone before passing to John Mason, an early Boston businessman to establish a suburban estate in Winchester—this two-story wood-frame dwelling displays characteristic Italianate features: a low-pitch hip roof with decorative brackets, a three-bay front facade with paired narrow windows crowned by ornamental framing, and a columned and pilastered portico sheltering the entrance. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
