Located at 417 Main Street in Winchester, Massachusetts, the Alfred Vinton House is a two-story wood-frame Italianate dwelling constructed around 1854 by local builder Gardner Symmes. The clapboard structure features a side gable roof with bracketed eaves and a symmetrical three-bay front elevation. The entrance is centered and flanked by sidelight windows, sheltered beneath an elaborately decorated porch, with a round-arch window positioned above. Alfred Vinton, a local lawyer who married into the Symmes family, purchased the house in 1862, and it remained in the family's hands into the 1920s. The house was recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
