The April 25 House of Culture is a theatre in Pyongyang's Moranbong District, built between 1974 and 1975 as a venue for military education. Originally named the February 8 House of Culture, this classically colonnaded structure exemplifies 1970s socialist monumentality in North Korea, standing alongside the visually similar Mansudae Art Theatre as a benchmark of Stalinist architectural ambition. Located on Pipha Street, the building has hosted significant political gatherings, including multiple congresses of the Korean Workers' Party and the 2007 meeting between Kim Jong Il and South Korean president Roh Moo-hyun.
