The Æðarstein Lighthouse stands on a rocky point on the west side of Djúpivogur port on Iceland's southeast coast. Built in 1922 from concrete, this navigational structure marks a significant modernization in Icelandic lighthouse construction, employing the durable material that would become standard for twentieth-century beacon towers in the region.
