The Astrup Fearnley Museum is a privately owned contemporary art museum in Oslo, Norway, founded and opened to the public in 1993. Designed by architect Renzo Piano, the museum initially focused on American appropriation artists from the 1980s but has since expanded its collection to encompass the international contemporary art scene, featuring works by artists including Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, Cindy Sherman, Matthew Barney, Tom Sachs, Doug Aitken, Olafur Eliasson, and Cai Guo-Qiang. The institution organizes six to seven temporary exhibitions annually and collaborates with international institutions to produce traveling exhibitions. In 2012, the museum relocated to two new buildings also designed by Piano, located in the Tjuvholmen district.
