Auldbrass Plantation, near Yemassee in Beaufort County, South Carolina, is Frank Lloyd Wright's only designed plantation complex, comprising more than twenty structures built beginning in 1939 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Commissioned by industrial consultant Charles Leigh Stevens on land originally granted to colonists in 1731, the complex exemplifies Wright's organic architecture through its hexagonal floor plans and integration with the natural landscape. The main plantation house contains two bedrooms, a study, and two bathrooms arranged around a central living room, while ancillary structures—cottages, guest house, kennels, stables, granary, and farm buildings—feature sloping cypress wood walls and copper roofs rather than a grand entrance. Though most buildings were completed by the early 1950s, others remained unbuilt until film producer Joel Silver purchased the property in 1986 and undertook a multi-year renovation, constructing additional structures from Wright's original designs.
