Built in 1874, the Ausenbaugh–McElhenny House in Huber Heights, Ohio is a two-story Carpenter Gothic residence that exemplifies 1870s domestic architecture in the region. Originally home to Joseph J. McElhenny, a prominent Wayne Township figure and justice of the peace, the house features weatherboarded walls on a rusticated stone foundation, with a T-shaped plan enhanced by a one-story extension and shed-roofed side ell. Gothic Revival styling appears throughout: detailed woodwork ornaments the gable peaks, and an ogive-shaped entryway marks the enclosed staircase near the foyer. The interior emphasizes refined simplicity with walnut-wood trim, while the exterior showcases both rounded and rectangular windows alongside stone and wood decorative elements. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 along with its outbuildings, it remains one of four registered historic sites in Huber Heights.
