The Azuchi-Hyōtanyama Kofun is a monumental burial mound located in the Azuchi neighborhood of Ōmihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, in Japan's Kansai region. Built around the middle of the 4th century during the early Kofun period, this zenpō-kōen-fun (keyhole-shaped tumulus) stretches 134 meters in length, making it the largest kofun in Shiga Prefecture. The mound was designated a National Historic Site of Japan in 1957, preserving evidence of the sophisticated burial practices and social hierarchies of ancient Japan.
