Located in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima, the Ōtsukayama Kofun is an early Kofun period tumulus featuring the distinctive zenpō-kōen-fun (keyhole) shape that characterizes monumental burials of ancient Japan. Designated a National Historic Site in 1972, it ranks as the second largest kofun in Fukushima Prefecture and the fourth largest in the Tōhoku region. The grave goods recovered from the site were collectively designated a National Important Cultural Property of Japan in 1977, attesting to the burial's archaeological significance.
