Bajnski Dvori Castle, located in Gornje Ladanje village in Varaždin County, Northern Croatia, is a seventeenth-century Renaissance château founded by the noble family of Both of Bayna, descendants of Hungarian ancestry who produced two Bans of Croatia. Set within a park landscape near a small lake and chapel, the castle exemplifies Renaissance architectural achievement. Successive ownership by the Batthyány, Erdödy, and Feštetić families saw nineteenth-century enlargement and renewal in the historicist spirit. However, the castle suffered catastrophic damage during the First World War when it was set ablaze, destroying its collections of art, books, and furnishings; only the eastern wing survives. After the Second World War, the castle housed departments and medical facilities of Varaždin Medical Centre before falling into deterioration. Today it stands as a weathered but significant entry on Croatia's Register of Cultural Goods.
