The Bayezid I Mosque, also known as the Yıldırım Camii, stands in Bursa, Turkey, as part of an expansive complex (külliye) commissioned by Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I between 1391 and 1395. Built during the formative period of Ottoman architecture, the mosque exemplifies the Islamic architectural traditions of its era. Located in Bursa's Yıldırım district—named after the sultan himself—the structure experienced significant damage in the 1855 Bursa earthquake and underwent extensive renovation thereafter, preserving its historical importance to the present day.
