Demolished or destroyed.

Completed in 1909, Birmingham Terminal Station was Birmingham, Alabama's principal railway hub until the 1950s. Designed in the Byzantine Revival style, the building served the city's transportation needs during the height of the railroad era before declining in importance after mid-century. Demolished in 1969, the station's loss became a defining symbol for the local preservation movement, prompting ongoing efforts to protect the city's architectural heritage.
