Wilmington station, a Romanesque Revival structure in downtown Wilmington, Delaware, was completed in 1908 by the architectural firm Furness & Evans. Originally named Pennsylvania Station, the building was renamed in 2011 for Joseph R. Biden, Jr., reflecting his decades of commuting between Wilmington and Washington, D.C. as a United States Senator. The station serves as a vital transportation hub on the Northeast Corridor, accommodating nine Amtrak routes alongside SEPTA Regional Rail commuter service and intercity bus lines. Its interior features retail shops, food service, and ticket offices at ground level, with passenger boarding occurring on the second-story train platforms. The station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
