White House station is an active commuter railroad station in Whitehouse Station, Readington Township, Hunterdon County, New Jersey, serving NJ Transit's Raritan Valley Line during peak weekday hours. The current station building, constructed in 1892 by architect Bradford Gilbert in the Richardson Romanesque architectural style, replaced an earlier depot that burned in December 1891. Located at the grade crossing of Main Street, the station features a single low-level side platform and serves trains running between High Bridge and Newark Penn Station, with other service terminating at Raritan. Railroad service at the site dates to September 1848, when the Somerville and Easton Railroad opened its 10-mile extension from Somerville to White House. The historic depot was added to the National Register of Historic Places in June 1984 as part of the Operating Passenger Railroad Stations Thematic Resource and now serves as the Readington Township Library.
