Newark Penn Station, located at Raymond Plaza in Newark, New Jersey, stands as one of the major transportation hubs of the New York metropolitan area. Designed by the prominent architectural firm McKim, Mead & White, the station exemplifies a blend of Art Deco and Neoclassical styles. Today, it functions as a vital intermodal facility serving multiple rail and bus carriers—among them NJ Transit commuter rail lines, the Newark Light Rail, the PATH rapid transit system, and all Northeast Corridor Amtrak services including the Acela. The station also serves as Newark's primary intercity bus terminal, accommodating Greyhound, Bolt, and Fullington Trailways, along with 33 local and regional NJ Transit Bus Operations lines. As the seventh busiest rail station in the United States and the fourth busiest in the New York City metropolitan area, it stands as a recognized landmark listed on both the New Jersey Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places.
