The Black Building at 114–118 Broadway in Fargo, North Dakota is an Art Moderne structure that served as a pivotal historic resource in Downtown Fargo. Built to house WDAY (AM) radio on its upper floor, the building became closely associated with its owner, George Mumford Black, a pioneering businessman in commerce and communications. Black ensured the station's broadcasts identified themselves as originating from the Black Building, making it a distinctive landmark in early radio history. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as part of the Downtown Fargo District and received individual listing in 2016, recognizing both its Moderne architecture and its significance to Black's commercial legacy, which included his creation of the one-cent sale concept.
