Blåvand Lighthouse, completed in 1900 on Blåvandshuk near Esbjerg, stands as Denmark's westernmost building, marking the country's westernmost point. Rising 39 metres with a focal plane height of 55 metres above sea level, this concrete-built tower was constructed to replace an earlier light. The structure features a square floor plan set on a granite plinth with brick walls, now whitewashed, and is accessed internally by a winding staircase that leads through a small trapdoor to the battlemented rooftop. Its light, flashing three times every 20 seconds, is visible up to 20 nautical miles across the sea. The lighthouse is registered as a monument on Kulturstyrelsen's heritage register.
