Canute's Palace in Southampton is a Grade I listed scheduled monument comprising the ruins of a Norman merchant's house dating from the late twelfth century. Despite its misleading name, the building has no historical connection to Canute the Great and was never a palace, but rather a domestic structure of the Norman period that survives today as an important remnant of medieval Southampton's architectural heritage.
