Carew Tower is a 49-story, 175-meter Art Deco skyscraper completed in 1930 in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. Designed by architect Walter W. Ahlschlager with Delano & Aldrich as associate architect, the tower was developed by industrialist John J. Emery as part of an ambitious mixed-use complex including a hotel and parking garage. Built despite the onset of the Great Depression at a cost of $33 million, it remained Cincinnati's tallest building until 2011. The tower originally combined commercial offices, a retail arcade on lower levels, and an observation deck, though it has faced periods of high vacancy in recent decades. In 2022, developer Victrix Investments LLC purchased it with plans to convert the structure into primarily residential use. Now among Cincinnati's foremost landmarks, Carew Tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 and designated a National Historic Landmark.
