Key Tower is a 57-story postmodern skyscraper designed by César Pelli and completed in 1991 on Public Square in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. At 947 feet (289 meters), it is the tallest building in Ohio and stands as the 42nd-tallest in the United States. The tower contains approximately 1.5 million square feet of office space and is visible from up to 20 miles away. Originally known as Society Center, the building takes its current name from its anchor tenant, KeyCorp, a major regional financial services firm. The tower connects to the Marriott at Key Center and the historic Society for Savings Building, forming a unified complex. Before 2007, it was the tallest building between New York City and Chicago, and it remains the tallest building in the Midwest outside of Chicago.
