Built in 1876 on a hillside overlooking the Ohio River in East Liverpool, Ohio, the Cassius Clark Thompson House is a brick residence embodying the Late Victorian Italianate style. Constructed for Cassius Clark Thompson, a prominent pottery magnate who owned a prosperous firm founded in 1868, the two-and-a-half-story structure features wood and stone detailing and is dominated by an ornate three-story tower crowned with wrought iron railings at its front façade. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971 as the second Columbiana County property so designated, the house was recognized for both its historically significant architecture and Thompson's importance to the region's industrial heritage. It later became part of the East Liverpool Downtown Historic District when that district was designated in 2001.
