Perched in Chaumont-sur-Loire in the Centre-Val de Loire region, this château was founded in the 10th century by Odo I, Count of Blois. The castle fell into ruin after King Louis XI ordered its destruction following Pierre d'Amboise's rebellion, but was rebuilt in the 15th century by Charles I d'Amboise. Classified as a historical monument since 1840 and transferred to state ownership in 1938, the castle now welcomes visitors and stands as a testament to the region's medieval and Renaissance heritage.
