The Cecil H. Green Library, Stanford University's main library building, was designed by architect Arthur Brown, Jr. and completed in 1919 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style. Located on the Stanford campus in Santa Clara County, the library houses approximately 4 million volumes focused primarily on the humanities and social sciences, while specialized libraries elsewhere on campus serve other disciplines including business, law, art, medicine, and engineering. As part of the Google Books project, the library's collections have been undergoing digitization.
