Chana School is an Italianate two-room schoolhouse built in 1883 in the village of Chana, Illinois, and now located in Oregon, the county seat of Ogle County. Originally abandoned after the Chana School District was eliminated in the 1960s, the building was restored in the late 1990s and relocated to a public park along the Rock River in Oregon in 2002 and 2003. The structure's distinctive appearance is marked by its bell tower, visible from a distance, and its oddly shaped floor plan. The interior contains architectural elements that distinguish it from typical nineteenth-century schoolhouses. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, Chana School now operates as an education museum and remains one of six National Register sites in Oregon.
