The Winona Church and School, a modest wood-frame structure on Rockhouse Road in Winona Township, Carroll County, Arkansas, exemplifies the dual-purpose religious and educational buildings common to the region in the late nineteenth century. Built around 1890 in Greek Revival style, the single-story building features weatherboard siding and a gable roof. Originally crowned by a small pyramidal belfry—later removed after its bell was stolen—the structure has undergone practical modifications over time, including the replacement of its original stone foundation piers with concrete ones during a roof repair. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, it stands as a reminder of frontier-era community life when churches and schoolhouses often served shared social functions.
