Choisy Cathedral, officially the Cathédrale Saint-Louis-et-Saint-Nicolas de Choisy, stands in Choisy-le-Roi, France, as a classical monument built by the preeminent architect Ange-Jacques Gabriel. Commissioned by Louis XV to serve as a chapel for the royal court during stays at the nearby Château de Choisy, the church was initiated when the king himself laid its first stone on 4 July 1748, and consecrated in his presence on 21 September 1760. From 1966 to 1987, it functioned as the first cathedral of the diocese of Créteil before the present Créteil Cathedral was inaugurated. Today the building is classified as a historical monument and listed in France's general inventory of cultural heritage.
